Lefty`s Burger Shack in University Place

Had my first visit here after hearing about it for years. I spent 5 seconds lamenting their lack of bacon (visit early, they run out before mid-afternoon), but I was in no way disappointed. While my burger was delicious, OMG...THE FRIES!!! I swear, I almost bit my hubby for taking the last one. Everything was so good.Friendly staff, good food. ALWAYS a winning combo in my book.

I really enjoy this little place, but if you think you can call in an order you will be mistaken because they never answer the phone... Never! So you just have to drive there and wait in line, order and wait for your food. Besides that great burgers and milk shakes and decent fries.

Great place to eat during the pandemic, and excellent food.

Yummy food, but the seating (picnic tables outside) could use some sanding & stabilizing.

Best burger joint in town, hands down the best in Tacoma, prices are great, will only ask one thing. Would love to add an egg to my burger..

I actually love this place, but the fact that there are no tomatoes on their burgers makes me incredibly sad. What kind of burger place does not have tomatoes? They are super cheap! I mean if they really wanted tomatoes and not to have to spend a dime. They could grow their own if they really put in the effort but anyways. Their milk shakes are snazzy

Where have you guys been the last 5 years I've lived here! I'm from socal where shacks like this are on every corner with the best crinkle cut fries and seasoning salt you can imagine. I've been searching for something as good since I moved here and didn't discover this place until I'm moving away again :(The fries are so good. Burgers are amazing too. I do love the onion rings but they're a tad bit too salty sometimes.

LOVE their deluxe gardenburger. Tastes way better than their "real" burgers IMO. And they *are* wearing masks now, so don't sweat that. Delicious!

Me and my friend were roasting people for no reason. It serves great fries and milkshakes. I remember my friends and I were loving their burgers, but they were hella greasy.

After living nearby and driving past Lefty's for more than 2 years, we decided to give it a try, and it was spectacular! For 2 meals it was only above $20 after tax! Cannot wait to have more Lefty's!

Food was amazing, definitely my new favorite. A timeless classic that has the feel of a 50-69s burger shack.

The price is reasonable for a very good burger.The Frings are the best pairing.

Love going to Lefty's..Great burgers,fries,great chicken strips,great milk shakes..my four year old granddaughter loves their hot dogs,I usually get the kraut dog..fried sour kraut, bacon, Nathan dog..ask for it with mustard..

Service was quick, staff was nice and most importantly the burgers were good.

Great beach shack food at great prices. The food is far better then you'd expect in the location. The shakes are delicious, my kids want burgers every day, but the kraut dog is the go to. Lines can get long, but the service is nice and you can get to know your neighbors!

There burgers are so good and I also love the friends but they didn't cook the fries enough this time

Leftys has amazing food however their customer service for to go orders is sub par.....you cant even get anyone to answer the phone when they are busy they make the in person orders a higher priority which i feel is just bad customer service...you can answer the phone AND take in person line orders

Stopped here for lunch during a volleyball tournament at Curtis High School. Great bacon double cheese burger! The onion rings were superb.

Best burger i can find around here! Fries are BOMB, frings are better, everything else is on point. Worth the wait outside in the freezing cold or in the heat of the summer.

Lucky's burgers is amazing place bacon cheeseburger I had was so tasty and delicious. The onion rings were golden brown and delicious. The raspberry milkshake I had was amazing I couldn't ask for a better milkshake. Employees their work so hard trying to get all of yours out the place was packed busy.

Good burgers. Better than any other burger shack in and around Tacoma. Onion rings are delicious as well. They make thick shakes in a large variety of flavors. Now I wanna go back. 😁

Pretty good, but nothing too special. I liked them better before when they had a larger menu to choose from. Milkshakes are good.

I rarely eat here as the two times I’ve gotten to go orders I’ve arrived home with an undercooked burger. Unfortunately I can’t eat this due to health reasons (and I did request they double check due to said reasons when ordering). They did offer to remake it when I called in and I did decline as it wasn’t worth my troubles. Their shakes are really tasty though!

Picked up some grub on the way home, super fast and convenient. Plus the double bacon cheeseburger was amazing!

Good food! The burgers were yummy (one regular and one veggie). The dipping sauces were not that great...tartar and fry sauce should have a bit of an acidic note to complement high fat foods, but was totally lacking on our visit. Service was spot on and we will be back.

Sadly they are not wearing masks. I have a family member on immune suppressors, and this is one of her favorite spots. Now we cannot risk it. The young staff does not take the virus seriously. The girl at the register said they were not required to wear masks. Another employee said they would put them on if a customer requested. Of course, by that time droplets are already in the air. When I call the establishment to ask if they are wearing masks that day, no one answers. Now driving by, it looks like a tailgate party. If you are concerned for your health and your family's, don't go.

I love this place I've been coming here for years excellent milkshakes very reasonable prices I recommend if you are in the area stop in and try it at least once you will not be disappointed

Delicious beer battered onion rings. Best I've had. Hot dog and corn dogs were on point. Took a little too much time, but worth it.

Amusement park food without the prices and never having to go to an actual amusement park just for the food (:Love love love their food. Try their shakes. My personal favorite is caramel and marshmallow together

Lefty's has no indoor seating so on a rainy wintery day I had to take my burger home to eat.The top of the bun absorbed the moisture from the pickle and because mushy. The meat was very dry. I was definitely underwhelmed. I will try again on a nicer day when I can eat at a table to see if the burgers are any better when you can eat them warm of the grill.

We have visited Lefty's many times over the years. We have never been disappointed. Great burgers, fries and shakes. There is always plenty of room to park. Tables are clean. Staff are friendly.

Great burgers, great fries, and great shakes. Never had a bad experience here. You may have a longer wait time, but that's because everything is fresh and everyone comes to get food here. Definitely worth it if you have to wait.

Had the swiss and onion burger. One of the best I've ever had. The peanut butter shake was also stellar. They have a wide selection of choices and all of my friends were able to find a favorite on the menu. Would recommend this place to any one who's passing through the area or may not have heard of it before.

Ordered deluxe burgers, Fry's, a shrimp basket, and shakes. Everything was fresh and well made. Service was fast and courteous. Several tables outside were all clean, and the parking lot had plenty of room. Great place to go if your craving a old fashioned burger/fry/shake combo. Can't wait to comeback and try some of the other menu items!
